We made it though Ike without even an inch of rain! At first it was predicted to hit us fairly hard, but all we got were some clouds and wind. It made for a relaxing quiet day around here. I do feel bad for those affected by Ike. The aftermath is horrible. It really could have been so much worse. Thankfully, most people took it seriously and evacuated.
We had our first meeting with our social worker today. She was very nice and made us feel right at home. It was not as stressful as I thought it would be. It was just as if we were telling her our story. We have our individual meeting scheduled for next week, then we will schedule the home visit. We feel very comfortable with her and are looking forward to what lies ahead. We know Hope is out there, and we are coming for her.
The boys are doing well in school. Connor is really enjoying the 4th grade and Parker is doing super in the 1st grade. Their teachers are fantastic! You should see Parker in gymnastics! He is already learning how to flip and can do a head-stand with no assistance! He is having a blast. Connor is doing well with karate, and only 2 belts away from a black belt.
Vince was in California this past weekend. He and Ricky got to go scuba diving off Catalina. He said is was beautiful! After diving, he got to hang out with his family and watch the USC game. GO TROJANS!! What a great game.
Not much else is happening in Waldenville. I will post with any new information as I get it.
